The new implementation is mandatory to start on the October 1st, 2021
Advance Cargo information (ACI) will be strictly mandatory for All Egypt Import shipment as of 1st October 2021 (ETS at Port of Loading).
Brief summary
Advance Cargo Information (ACI) is a new customs system under which Egyptian importers are required to declare full information about goods to be shipped to Egypt before actual loading from exporting country.
The ACI process is as follows:
Exporters must create and verify a CargoX account while importers are required to register on Nafeza and obtain electronic signature. The importer is required to register primary & detailed information about the shipment (including the VAT number of the importer and the exporter and the customs nomenclature of the goods -HS CODE) in order to request the issuance of the ACID number,
Upon approval, Nafeza will issue the ACID number, which is the unique number indicating imported shipments to Egypt. The ACID number uniquely identifies the shipment and it is valid for 3 months. Nafeza will send the number to the Importer, Exporter & Bank.
The exporter creates an ACI filling Envelope on Cargo X platform and submits the documents (bill of lading, commercial invoice, and Packing list) to Nafeza via Cargo X, at least 48 hours before the vessel’ departure.
The exporter sends the original documents to their destination
